Tom was very inspiring and always made me smile. He had a very positive outlook on life and he loved his family very much. He will be missed and remembered always. God Bless you dear friend.
Tom and I had been close as he was the first friend I met when moving to BC in approximatley 1957, he saw the moving van, saw me and was glad to have another boy in the neighborhood. From there we went through boy scouts together, elementary school, jr. high and then I moved to NY and back again halfway through my senior year. Tom and I picked up right where we left off as friends and remained that way until I left town for college and then drifted off. Not sure how but Tom and I reconected via the interenet about 10 years ago and became close again via computer and phone about 7 years ago. We shared memories, his battle with illness, the ups and downs of potential transplants and his subequent death. I feel very fortunate to have talked with him about one hour before his death. We talked the best we could (he had little strength left), laughed, cried a lot and said our "goodbyes" .... very sad and I miss our conversations very much. A truly good guy.
