I've often thought about Candy over the years. When we were younger, if I was home sick, she'd stop by to visit or drop off books. Always smiling. How ironic that she turned ill so quickly, that we only had but days to visit her at the hospital, or so it seemed. We all felt a sudden cruel brush with mortality. She was a lovely soul and is forever missed.
I remember Candy as a sweet, always smiling, young classmate. I am pretty sure that she became ill and had heart problems when we were at Lakeview Jr High ( the original HS) . I also remember the difficulty I had understanding how a young person my age could, all of a sudden, die. She always had beautiful, long brownish hair in a ponytail. I learned at a very young age to always appreciate each and every day!
