I first met Steve back in September 1963 when he and I began our sophomore year at Lakeview. We had two classes that year: Gym and Biology. In junior year, we shared first period American History. And in senior year, we worked together at the Lakewood Inn. Following work, on Saturday nights, we would go to his house to listen to music, talk and eat pizza. I liked Steve from the day I met him. Really a great guy. Very glad I knew him.

Certainly not as clsoe to Steve as you were but I HATE to hear of the passing of any old classmate.....unfortunately brings our mortality to far into focus....PIP Steve.

I used to trade STAMPS with Steve when we were kids.  He was a neighbor of mine.  We knew each other from elementary -HS but lost touch as we matured.  Nice young man.

Steve and I met at church in junior high and became good friends, riding bikes, collecting coins, being in Boy Scouts together, not to mention interminable Saturdays at confirmation classes at St. Mark's along with Lynda Colles (Wiles), Ron Poole, Linda Thompson and Cheri Griswald.

Once we got to high school, we had fewer classes together, and Steve got interested in cars and I got interested in sports and our paths just kind of gradually diverged and we went out separate ways.  The last time I saw him was at the 30th and he was then being treated for the cancer I understood he got from being in Viet Nam.  The steroids were taking their toll, but he was still the same old Steve and we got caught up as much as you can in a crowded room.  Steve was a quiet, easy-going guy, who had a good sense of humor and one of the gentler souls I've encountered.  Wish he could be here for this Reunion.
